📖 About Robert Hoag Rawlings Public Library
The Robert Hoag Rawlings Public Library at 100 East Abriendo Avenue is the flagship branch of the Pueblo City-County Library District (PCCLD), which serves over 165,000 residents across Pueblo County through 11 branch locations. The striking main building, completed in 2003 in the Mesa Junction neighborhood, was designed by celebrated New Mexico architect Antoine Predock — known for his distinctly American Southwest aesthetic — and named in honor of the Hoag and Rawlings families, who were prominent figures in Pueblo's newspaper and philanthropic history. Inside, the library houses the InfoZone News Museum, a free interactive exhibit tracing the three great communication revolutions (print, broadcast, and digital) through vintage equipment from The Pueblo Chieftain and displays on local and national media history. PCCLD earned a four-star Library Journal rating in both 2017 and 2018, and in 2018 won both the Leslie B. Knope Award for best library in the nation and the National Medal for Museum and Library Services from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The Digital Memory Lab, a tool library, a seed library partnership with All Pueblo Grows, and a full makerspace round out what is one of Colorado's most distinguished public library facilities.
