📖 About College-Rolando Library

The College-Rolando Library serves the densely populated College Area and Rolando Park neighborhoods just east of San Diego State University. The current facility, opened in September 2005, was built to replace the outdated College Heights Library (constructed 1955) and features a distinctive astronomy-themed design with dedicated reading areas organized around celestial motifs. The 16-computer public-access lab includes five stations sized for younger patrons, and a multilingual juvenile collection adds materials in Spanish and French alongside the main English stacks. A large community room seating up to 80, equipped with a kitchen and connected outdoor patio, makes the branch a regular venue for neighborhood meetings and cultural programs. The branch is served by MTS Bus Routes 1 and 215 and the Trolley Green Line, making it easily reachable without a car.
