📖 About Live Oak Library
Live Oak Library is a branch of the Los Angeles County Library system serving residents of the unincorporated Arcadia area and surrounding San Gabriel Valley communities in Los Angeles County. Founded in 1917, the library has more than a century of service to this foothill community at the edge of the San Gabriel Mountains. In 2021 it relocated from its former address on East Live Oak Avenue to a larger, purpose-built facility at 22 West Live Oak Avenue — a 7,440-square-foot building designed with a dedicated children's section, four study rooms and a community meeting room with a capacity of 43. The branch is managed by Library Manager Serina Panosian and is supported by the volunteer-run Friends of Live Oak Library, which organizes book sales and community fundraising. As part of the countywide LA County Library system, Live Oak cardholders can borrow from any of the system's 85-plus locations and access an extensive suite of free digital resources including Libby, Hoopla and Kanopy.
