Yuma County Library District is the public library system for all of Yuma County, Arizona. A department of Yuma County governed by the Board of Supervisors and guided by a Library Board of Trustees, the district traces its roots to a Carnegie library that opened in 1921 with more than 1,000 volumes. Today seven locations span the county from downtown Yuma to the border community of San Luis and the small desert towns of Somerton, Wellton, Dateland, and Roll. The flagship Main Yuma Library at 2951 S. 21st Drive is the largest facility, offering study rooms, technology access, and a full roster of community programs for all ages.

The district serves a richly binational community: Yuma County borders both Baja California and Sonora, Mexico, and a significant share of residents speak Spanish as their first language. The Yuma County Heritage Library in downtown Yuma houses local-history and genealogy collections documenting the region’s frontier past as a Colorado River crossing point on the route to California.
