The Casa Grande Public Library traces its roots to 1913, when the Women's Club of Casa Grande pooled their personal books to establish the town's first library — an institution the Club operated for four decades before the City of Casa Grande took it over as a municipal library in 1953. Drylake Street, the library holds more than 101,000 items in all formats and serves a community of approximately 50,000 residents, sitting just minutes from the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument, the largest known structure built by the ancient Hohokam civilization. The building underwent a major renovation in 2014 and added dedicated study and conference rooms in 2019. The library is an affiliate of the Pinal County Library District, sharing a Polaris catalog with eleven county libraries so that a single card opens borrowing across the region. An Arizona Room Collection documents Pinal County and regional Sonoran Desert history, while a bookmobile, a monthly Genealogy Club, Spanish-language materials, a Culture Pass program, and robust digital collections extend service across the community and beyond the building's walls.
