📖 About Carrollton Public Library
Carrollton Public Library is one of five branches in the Pickens County Cooperative Library System, which unites libraries in Aliceville, Carrollton, Gordo, and Reform under a shared mission to deliver quality library services across Pickens County. Carrollton itself is the county seat, named for Charles Carroll of Carrollton, Maryland — the only Catholic signer and the longest-lived signer of the Declaration of Independence, incorporated in 1831. The library sits on Commerce Avenue near the historic Pickens County Courthouse, erected in 1877 after earlier courthouses were lost to fire. Staff welcome residents with free library cards, public internet stations with a user-agreement form, and black-and-white copies at 25 cents per page and color prints at 50 cents per page. Fax service is also available at $2 for the first page and $1 for each additional page.
