About Menomonie Public Library

The Menomonie Public Library, situated at 600 Wolske Bay Road alongside picturesque Lake Menomin, serves the residents of Menomonie and Dunn County, Wisconsin. The library's connection to community goes back to Senator James H. Stout, a Menomonie lumber baron and philanthropist who pioneered a traveling library system in Dunn County in the late 19th century, distributing boxes of books to rural communities across the region. Today, the library holds over 43,000 volumes and circulates more than 370,000 items per year to a service population of approximately 37,000 residents.

The Menomonie Public Library offers digital access through Libby/OverDrive and Hoopla, along with public computers and free Wi-Fi. Its digital archives preserve local history materials for researchers and genealogists. The library participates in the Indianhead Federated Library System, allowing Menomonie cardholders to borrow from libraries across northwestern Wisconsin.
