The Englewood Public Library has served the community since 1920, when it opened in a rented room on South Broadway with just 200 books. Over a century it moved twice before settling on June 12, 2000 into its current home on the first floor of the Englewood Civic Center at 1000 Englewood Parkway. The library is an independent city institution — funded and managed by the City of Englewood, not the Arapahoe Library District — and holds approximately 76,000 volumes with an annual circulation exceeding 200,000. It is a full member of the Marmot Library Network and Prospector, giving cardholders access to materials across hundreds of Colorado libraries. Beyond books, the library stewards the Englewood Historic Archive: more than 40 manuscript and photograph collections documenting the city's past, including maps, aerial photos, microfilm, and scrapbooks.

No. The Englewood Public Library is an independent municipal library funded and operated by the City of Englewood. The Arapahoe Library District is a separate taxing district serving unincorporated Arapahoe County and other communities, but it does not include Englewood. What is the Culture Pass Program, and who is eligible?
The Culture Pass Program lets full-access Englewood library cardholders (age 13 and older) borrow free passes to 11 local cultural destinations, including Denver Botanic Gardens (up to 6 visitors), Butterfly Pavilion, Wings Over the Rockies, and the Colorado Railroad Museum. Each cardholder may hold up to two active passes at a time, and passes open for booking on a 30-day rolling calendar. Does the Englewood Public Library charge overdue fines?
Since January 2, 2024, the library no longer charges overdue fines on most materials — including books, audiobooks, DVDs/Blu-rays, children's music CDs, and LaunchPads. Late fees still apply to specialty items such as video games, book club kits, board games, and state park backpacks. Patrons remain responsible for the replacement cost of lost or damaged items.
