Lakewood Library is the flagship branch and administrative headquarters of Jefferson County Public Library — the third-largest public library system in Colorado, serving more than 550,000 residents across 11 locations. Housed in the same building as JCPL's system offices at 10200 W. 20th Avenue, the branch combines full public library services with institutional depth: a dedicated genealogy collection, Ancestry Library Edition in-library access, microfilm readers with runs of the Denver Post (1947–present) and Rocky Mountain News (1946–2009), and photo and video editing stations. Six electric vehicle charging stations in the parking lot (free first 3 hours via Blink app), a 70-person ADA-accessible meeting room, an ASL interpreter available for programs, and bilingual staff and Spanish-language collections round out an unusually broad service suite.

Yes — Lakewood Library is the home of JCPL's genealogy collection.
