📖 About Lemon Grove Library

The Lemon Grove Library is part of the San Diego County Library (SDCL) system and serves the East County city of Lemon Grove. The current 13,210-square-foot Mission Revival building opened with a public celebration on June 1, 2013, built as a joint-use facility shared with Lemon Grove Academy for the Sciences and Academies. It was funded largely by Proposition W, the $28 million bond that Lemon Grove voters overwhelmingly approved in 2008 to pay for the new library and repairs to aging local schools. The library stands on the site of the community's 1924 school, and a dramatic life-size digital mural over the youth-area entrance features photographs of students at that 1924 schoolhouse drawn from the local historical society's collection. As an SDCL branch, a Lemon Grove card borrows across the entire county system and unlocks its digital library.
