Inside, calming spaces include a café area, a fireplace lounge, private study rooms, a large meeting room, and a welcoming children's area. ❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What is the therapy dog reading program at EVPL Oaklyn?
Children visit the branch weekly to read aloud to trained therapy dogs. Reading to a calm, non-judgmental animal helps build children's confidence and fluency. Contact the branch at 812-428-8234 or oaklyn@evpl.org for the current schedule.
Does EVPL Oaklyn really have a green roof?
Yes. The 2003 building was constructed into a hillside with a living green roof planted with prairie grass and local wildflowers. This design reduces the building's visual footprint and creates a peaceful meadow setting around the branch.
When does the EVPL Oaklyn Summer Concert Series take place?
The Summer Concert Series features free outdoor performances on Friday evenings, held on the meadow surrounding the branch. The picnic-friendly setup makes it a popular community event. Check evpl.org for the current season schedule.
