📚 About Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library

Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library (EVPL) is the public library system for the City of Evansville and all of Vanderburgh County, Indiana. Established in 1912 and funded by county tax revenues, EVPL operates a Central Library downtown and six neighborhood and express branches spread across the county. Because the city and county share a single consolidated library district, one card works at all seven locations.

EVPL's Central Library on Walnut Street anchors the system and houses local history and genealogy collections. The network includes full-service branches such as EVPL East, West, McCollough, North Park, and Oaklyn, plus the express-format Red Bank Express branch. Note: Willard Library, also in Evansville, is a separate privately-endowed library and is not part of the EVPL system.

📱 Free digital access with your card

A free EVPL card unlocks ebooks and audiobooks through Libby, plus no-waitlist titles on hoopla and streaming films on Kanopy. Indiana cardholders also have access to Indiana Digital Library resources through the Indiana State Library — including databases, newspapers, and genealogy tools available from home with your library card.
