<p>Named for Ethel McCollough, the visionary founding director whose leadership shaped the modern EVPL system, this branch opened in 1965 near Washington Square Mall on the city's east side. A 2024 renovation transformed the interior into a light-filled, contemporary space that blends community-friendly design with a local arts program — including a Bauhaus-inspired mural titled <em>Bookshelf</em> by Evansville native Spence Farmer and a paper collage by Aaron Soulberry. Private study rooms, a spacious meeting room, public computers, and document scanning round out the fully upgraded facility.</p>
