EVPL East is one of Evansville's two Carnegie Libraries, opening its doors in January 1913 after Andrew Carnegie funded two neighborhood branches at the request of prominent local citizens. More than a century later it anchors the Bayard Park neighborhood on the city's east side.

<p>Built with Carnegie philanthropy and opened in January 1913, EVPL East has delivered uninterrupted neighborhood library service for over a century. The branch underwent a modern renovation in 2003 that upgraded technology and interior spaces while preserving the historic architectural character. Situated adjacent to Bayard Park in the near-east side, it offers WiFi, public computers, a meeting room, dedicated study areas, and Book-A-Librarian consultations through the full EVPL system.</p>
