📖 About Cartersville Library

Bartow County's library history began in 1896 when the Cherokee Women's Club founded a reading room that eventually became the Mary Munford Memorial Library. The library went public in 1932 and spent decades evolving alongside the county before relocating to its current West Main Street address in 1980. A landmark 2004 expansion more than doubled the building's footprint from roughly 17,000 to 44,000 square feet, creating space for a makerspace, dedicated meeting rooms, and an expanded children's wing. Today the Cartersville branch serves as the system headquarters alongside two satellite locations in Adairsville and Euharlee, collectively circulating over 319,000 items per year for a service population of nearly 111,000.
