📖 About Wixom Public Library
Wixom Public Library was born in the spring of 1973, when the Wixom City Council voted to establish a library and that summer opened its doors inside City Hall. Over the next five decades the library outgrew its original quarters and moved to a dedicated building at 49015 Pontiac Trail, now holding more than 63,000 volumes and circulating over 158,000 items per year. The library belongs to The Library Network (TLN), an Oakland County-based consortium of more than 100 Michigan public libraries, giving Wixom cardholders reciprocal access to materials across the network. Through TLN the library also participates in the Michigan Activity Pass (MAP) program, which lets cardholders borrow free or discounted passes to regional cultural attractions. A dedicated ESL non-fiction collection and the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program reflect the library's commitment to lifelong learning for residents of all ages and backgrounds. The Wixom Historical Society uses the library's showcase space to display rotating exhibits on the city's past.
