Dearborn Heights, incorporated as a city in 1960 from portions of Dearborn Township and Redford Township in Wayne County, supports its community through a two-branch public library system that bears the names of two members of the Kennedy family. The Caroline Kennedy Library (CKL), at 24590 George Street, is the main branch; the John F. Kennedy, Jr. Library (JFKJL), at 24602 Van Born Road, serves the southern neighborhoods.
