About Hedberg Public Library

The Hedberg Public Library, situated at 316 S Main Street in the heart of downtown Janesville, serves as Rock County's premier public library. The library is named after the Hedberg family, longtime civic benefactors who donated generously to library services in the region. Since its early 20th-century founding, the library has expanded its collections and programs dramatically, becoming a vital cultural and educational hub for the greater Janesville area.

Hedberg Public Library also operates the HPL Express branch at 2500 Milton Avenue, offering convenient library access on the east side of Janesville. Digital services include Libby/OverDrive for eBooks and audiobooks, and Kanopy for free streaming films. The library participates in the WISCAT interlibrary loan network, giving patrons access to materials from libraries statewide. Community programs range from children's storytimes to teen events and adult literacy support.
