The Story of the Library in Mayagüez

The Biblioteca Juvenil de Mayagüez was founded in 1992 as a nonprofit library dedicated to children and youth in the Mayagüez area. In 2004 it became the first library in Puerto Rico to receive the National Award for Museum and Library Service from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), recognizing its outstanding community service.
