📖 About Fleet Branch

The Fleet Branch anchors library service in Cleveland's Broadway–Slavic Village neighborhood, a community long shaped by Polish and Central European immigrants. Library service in the area traces back to the Fullerton School Branch, which became the Fleet House Community Station in 1928 before earning full branch status in 1931. The current building at 7224 Broadway Avenue opened in 1981, its stainless-steel terne-coated roof chosen to reflect Cleveland's industrial heritage above roughly 8,900 square feet of russet brick, oak and clerestory-lit interior. In 2021 the neighborhood's Broadway and Fleet branches were consolidated at this location. The branch is now closed for a full renovation under Cleveland Public Library's facilities plan and is expected to reopen in late 2027, when free WiFi, public computers and a cell-phone charging station will return.
