The Shuter Library of Angel Fire is an independent, community-supported nonprofit public library serving Angel Fire, New Mexico, a small resort and ski community in Colfax County's Moreno Valley in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The library was organized in 1978 by seven dedicated local women who started it in a back room of the Angel Fire Country Club. After years of community fundraising, Angel Fire Resort donated land and Shuter Construction built a custom 3,000-square-foot facility at cost, which opened in July 2002 at 11 South Angel Fire Road. Today the Shuter Library holds over 12,000 print and audio books, offers downloadable eBooks and audiobooks through New Mexico's OverDrive network (nm.overdrive.com), four public computers, free Wi-Fi, low-cost copying and scanning, and a used-book sale shelf.
