The Wayne Public Library was established on July 24, 1923, in Wayne Township — a suburb of roughly 55,000 residents in Passaic County, about 25 miles northwest of New York City. It is a member of PALS Plus (Passaic County New Jersey Area Libraries), a cooperative system that gives Wayne cardholders access to the holdings and branches of all member libraries.
