The Tinton Falls Public Library serves one of Monmouth County's fastest-growing boroughs from its location at 664 Tinton Avenue. In August 2017, the library was forced to close after a black-mold infestation was discovered in a trailer attached to the building, resulting in the disposal of nearly 46,000 items — the entire book, DVD, CD, and archival collection. After seven years of fundraising, remediation, and renovation led by the Tinton Falls Public Library Association, the library celebrated a grand reopening on November 23, 2024. New Director Lauren Gormley, hired in August 2024, launched the reopening with roughly 10,000 new volumes, dedicated spaces for children, teens, and adults, and programming designed to re-establish the library as the community's vital 'third space.' As a member library of the Monmouth County Library (MCL) system — a county network created in 1922 with 10 branches and 16 member libraries — Tinton Falls patrons also access the statewide JerseyClicks / JerseyCat digital catalog, Libby/OverDrive for eBooks, Kanopy for streaming, and Rosetta Stone for language learning.
