📖 About Sparks Library
The Sparks Library is a branch of the Washoe County Library System serving the city of Sparks, Nevada, just east of Reno in the Truckee Meadows. Library service in Sparks dates to the early 1930s, when a small branch opened near B Street (today's Victorian Avenue); as the city outgrew that historic building, the library moved to its present home at 1125 12th Street in 1965. In April 2022 the branch reopened after a top-to-bottom refresh funded by Washoe County in partnership with the Tacchino Trust, adding new flooring, furniture, a reconfigured layout, extra laptop workstations and study tables, and a refreshed Young People's Library. As part of the countywide Washoe County Library System, a single library card borrows across Sparks, the Downtown Reno Library and every other Washoe County branch through a shared catalog.
