📖 About Grand Island Public Library

Grand Island Public Library is a city department of Grand Island, Nebraska, serving Hall County's largest community at 1124 W. 2nd Street. Grand Island is Nebraska's third-largest city, a regional hub on the Platte River where the Pawnee, Sioux and other nations traded long before European settlement, and the library has grown alongside the city to reflect that diverse heritage. Supported by the Grand Island Public Library Foundation — established in 1961 to fill funding gaps and bring innovation to library services, and recognized by the Nebraska Library Association with its Advocacy Award in 2021 — the library offers a broad collection of print, audiovisual and digital materials. Cardholders gain free access to NebraskAccess (Nebraska's statewide database portal), Libby/OverDrive eBooks and audiobooks, and the library's own LS2 PAC catalog, searchable online around the clock.
