📖 About Rolling Hills Library — Riverside Branch
Rolling Hills Consolidated Library serves Andrew and Buchanan counties in northwest Missouri, and its largest location is the Riverside Branch in St. Joseph. The system began in April 1961 as a two-county library, was renamed Rolling Hills that August, and formally consolidated the Andrew and Buchanan county library districts in 1973; from 1989 to 2001 it shared automation with the St. Joseph Public Library as the River Bluffs Regional Library before returning to independent operation. In 2026 the branch moved from its longtime Belt Highway plaza into a purpose-built 36,000-square-foot facility at 400 Mosaic Court, just south of Mosaic Life Care, opening with a public celebration on May 9. The new building houses the system's largest collection along with the Bookmobile garage, the administrative offices and the Friends of the Library's Books Revisited used bookstore. A companion branch in Savannah and a Bookmobile round out service to the two-county district.
