The Farmington Public Library serves the city of Farmington and surrounding St. Francois County — the old Lead Belt heartland of southeastern Missouri — from its building at 101 North A Street. The library is operated by the City of Farmington and holds a collection of nearly 39,000 volumes along with audiobooks, DVDs, and magazines. Residents living within city limits or attending a Farmington school receive a free card; households outside the city may join for $15 per year.
