The Sheridan County Library sits at the heart of Hoxie, the county seat of Sheridan County, in the short-grass prairie of northwest Kansas. The library belongs to the Northwest Kansas Library System (NWKLS), a regional cooperative serving ten counties — Cheyenne, Decatur, Gove, Logan, Norton, Sheridan, Sherman, Thomas, Trego and Wallace — that provides training, shared technology and cooperative resources to member libraries. With a circulating collection of more than 22,500 volumes and over 22,000 annual checkouts, the library punches well above its weight for a community of its size. Patrons can borrow books, audiobooks, movies and even cake pans, use five public computers, access free Nex-Tech Wi-Fi and tap into statewide digital collections including the Sunflower eLibrary for eBooks and audiobooks through Libby.
