📖 About Idaho Falls Public Library
The Idaho Falls Public Library is the municipal public library of Idaho Falls, the largest city in eastern Idaho and the seat of Bonneville County. Its roots reach back to a 1905 library-building campaign led by local women's clubs, whose correspondence with the Carnegie Corporation secured a grant that opened a Carnegie library in 1916 (that Renaissance Revival building, later remodeled with an Art Deco entrance under a 1938–40 Public Works Administration project, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 and now houses part of the Museum of Idaho). The library outgrew the Carnegie building and moved into its present home on West Broadway in 1977. Owned and operated by the City of Idaho Falls, it serves the community with a traditional collection, public computers, meeting space and a drive-thru window, and connects patrons to statewide digital collections through Libraries Linking Idaho (LiLI).
