📖 About McMullen Southside Library

Opened May 31, 1992, McMullen Southside Library was the fourth branch in a five-library building campaign launched by the South Georgia Regional Library System in 1988. The land was donated by J.C. McMullen, a Lake Park businessman, who named the branch in honor of his mother, Mae Wisenbaker McMullen. The branch carries on a tradition of African American library services in the region that began in 1936, and today it is distinguished within the system by an extensive African American book collection. Residents of Lowndes County and surrounding South Georgia counties are welcome to obtain a free library card.
