📖 About Oldsmar Public Library
The Oldsmar Public Library is a municipal library operated by the City of Oldsmar, Florida, and a member of the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative (PPLC) — the consortium that unites Pinellas County's thirteen public library systems. Through PPLC membership, Oldsmar cardholders can use their card at every PPLC library, search a shared online catalog, download e-books and audiobooks through Libby (OverDrive), stream movies and music through hoopla, and borrow museum passes to local cultural institutions including the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. The library's curated research databases include the Florida Electronic Library, AtoZDatabases, Gale databases, Fold3 (military records), and Ancestry Library (in-library only). A toddler-to-teen programming calendar keeps the children's and teen sections active year-round, and the library provides mobile hotspots for checkout to patrons needing at-home internet access. Oldsmar was founded in 1916 by Ransom Eli Olds, pioneer of the American automobile industry, and the library reflects the community's compact, civic-minded character.
