📖 About North University Community Library
North University Community Library opened in September 2007 to serve the communities of University City, University Towne Centre, and the neighborhoods surrounding the University of California San Diego campus and Torrey Pines research corridor. The 16,088-square-foot building was designed with those science-and-technology neighbors in mind: a large-scale light sculpture installed at the front entrance visually evokes the illuminated connection between learning and discovery. Inside, 11 public computers, three meeting and study rooms (one 49-person room and two 8-person rooms), an outdoor patio with stair seating, and language collections support a community that is among the most highly educated in San Diego. The branch's programming calendar frequently features concerts, live performances, and cultural events that draw attendees from across the area. A free SDPL card for any San Diego County resident unlocks eBooks through CloudLibrary, streaming films through Kanopy, digital magazines through Flipster, and 30-language learning through Rosetta Stone.
