The Ash Fork Public Library serves a small, close-knit community at 450 W. Lewis Avenue in one of Arizona's most remote small towns. Ash Fork was founded in 1882 when the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad laid tracks through this stretch of high desert plateau, and the town later earned an official designation from the Arizona State Legislature as the Flagstone Capital of the World for its sandstone quarrying industry.
