The Ocotillo Library and Workforce Literacy Center sits at 102 W. Southern Ave. in the 85041 neighborhood of south Phoenix, where it has served readers since first opening in 1967 before a major remodel in 2012. What sets it apart is its embedded Workforce Literacy Center, which offers free classes in resume writing, interviewing skills, and basic computer use for job seekers. The 6,600-square-foot building also provides a full slate of document services, including faxing, photocopying, scanning, and mobile printing, plus a 22-person multi-purpose meeting room. Its 2012 renovation earned a Valley Forward Award and added an electric vehicle charging station, and the branch is home to the public art installation Constellation of Cultures by BJ Krivanek and Joel Breaux. As part of the Phoenix Public Library system, it falls within City Council District 7.
