Named in honor of the Bruton family — longtime civic pillars of Plant City — the Bruton Memorial Library has served the 'Winter Strawberry Capital of the World' from its home on W. McLendon Street since the mid-twentieth century. The Bruton Memorial Library is Plant City's public library, operated by the City of Plant City and affiliated with the Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative (HCPLC) — a consortium of more than twenty library locations serving Hillsborough County.
