📖 About Ramona Branch Library

The Ramona Branch Library is part of the San Diego County Library (SDCL) and serves Ramona, a backcountry town in the hills of north-central San Diego County. Library service in Ramona reaches back to the early 20th century, and after decades in a small, outdated building the branch moved into a spacious new home at 1275 Main Street that opened in 2010. The 21,000-square-foot facility is one of the region's few LEED Gold-certified public buildings: rooftop solar panels supply roughly a fifth of its energy, and a tall clock tower — a nod to Tuscan hill towns and to Ramona's own history — makes it a Main Street landmark. Inside, the branch offers a community meeting room, a MakerBot 3D printer, free Wi-Fi and public computers, a Friends of the Library bookstore and Cool Zone cooling-center service. As an SDCL location it shares one free library card and catalog with more than 30 county branches, with free streaming and downloads through Libby, hoopla and Kanopy.
