📖 About Estill County Public Library

Estill County Public Library is the public library for Estill County, Kentucky, headquartered in Irvine — a city incorporated by the Kentucky legislature in 1849 and named for Col. William Irvine, a pioneer settler of Madison County. The library serves Irvine, Ravenna, and the surrounding county with an on-site collection, digital resources, room reservations, and a bookmobile program that reaches residents who cannot easily visit the main branch on Broadway Street. Its mission — "supporting and promoting access to information and library services created and maintained for the citizens of our Estill County, Kentucky community" — is reflected in uncommonly extended hours: three evenings a week until 8 pm and Saturday service until 5 pm. A Board of Trustees, with members including President Melinda Barnett and Treasurer Susan Kay Scrivner, provides community governance.
