📖 About Fullerton Public Library
Founded in 1906 under Ordinance No. 46 — two years after Fullerton's incorporation — the library traces its roots to an 1888 traveling collection at the Gem Pharmacy. A $10,000 Andrew Carnegie grant funded the first dedicated building in 1907 at Pomona and Wilshire Avenues. After a $10 million renovation completed in 2011, the Main Library reopened with LEED Gold certification, adding conference facilities, study rooms, and a café that makes it one of the most sustainable public buildings in Orange County. The Hunt Branch Library, designed by architect William L. Pereira (of Transamerica Pyramid fame) and donated by the Norton Simon Foundation in 1962, rounds out the system.
