The library traces its roots to 1976, when the Orange Park branch relocated to a larger facility to accommodate growing demand. Today it provides books, DVDs, computers, free Wi-Fi, and community programming within easy reach of neighborhoods in Orange Park, Lakeside, and the broader northwestern Clay County area. Cardholders also have access to the Florida Electronic Library — a statewide database program funded through the Florida Department of State — as well as ebooks and audiobooks through Libby. The Clay County Public Library System operates alongside four other branches: the Headquarters Library at Fleming Island (1895 Town Center Blvd), Green Cove Springs Library, Keystone Heights Library, and Middleburg-Clay Hill Library.</p>
