📖 About Beacon Falls Public Library
Beacon Falls Public Library traces its roots to January 22, 1923, when nineteen residents formed the Beacon Falls Library Association and appointed Miss Daisy E. Rogers as the town's first librarian. That original library operated out of Center School until 1953, when growing class sizes required the space, and the library closed temporarily. It was re-established as a permanent municipal institution by a town ordinance on April 10, 1957, and today occupies a 1,250-square-foot space on the second floor of Town Hall at 10 Maple Avenue. The library holds roughly 15,518 volumes and circulates about 29,760 items per year for Beacon Falls's 6,049 residents. It participates in the Bibliomation cooperative, giving cardholders access to a shared Evergreen catalog and the ability to borrow from other member libraries across the Naugatuck Valley. The library is a member of the Connecticut Library Consortium and provides free access to researchIT CT, the state's unified portal for research databases.
