📖 About Greenwich Library
Founded as a community institution in Greenwich, the library system has grown into a three-branch network serving one of Connecticut's most diverse and economically dynamic towns. The main building at 101 West Putnam Avenue houses the Peterson Business Collection and Peterson Music Collection alongside a full-service café, making it one of the few public libraries in New England where patrons can grab a coffee before settling into financial research on a Bloomberg Terminal. The Flinn Gallery, operated independently within the building, rotates juried exhibitions year-round and has showcased regional artists since 1960. The Innovation Lab opened to reflect growing community demand for hands-on STEAM learning, offering supervised sessions on Bambu 3D printers and an Epilog Fusion Pro laser engraver for patrons aged 13 and up. An unusual Art Borrowing Program — one of fewer than 30 such programs at U.S. public libraries — allows cardholders to check out original paintings and prints to hang at home for six weeks at a time.
