<p>When the Fox Valley Branch closed in October 1989 to await a permanent facility, the Aurora Public Library District planned a modern southeast location; the result was the Eola Road Branch, which opened in 1993 inside the Eola Community Center at 555 S. Eola Road. Since then the branch has been one of the district's busiest neighborhood hubs, and in 2025 it entered a comprehensive renovation that will eliminate the hallway bisecting the building, create unimpeded access throughout, and introduce updated shelving, study spaces and a refreshed design aesthetic. While construction proceeds, the 'Eola Express' temporary location inside the same building keeps materials, computers and programming available to the community without interruption.</p>
