📖 About Vivian J. Lincoln Library

The Vivian J. Lincoln Library is one of the Fort Worth Public Library's newest branches, opened in 2023 to serve the fast-growing neighborhoods of far southwest Fort Worth. It is named in honor of Vivian J. Lincoln (1956–2022), a longtime educator who became the first female African American principal in the Crowley Independent School District, leading Jackie Carden Elementary for fifteen years under her motto "Always Believe in Children." The branch provides free access to books, e-materials, public computers, Wi-Fi and printing, plus meeting and study space for the community. As part of the citywide Fort Worth Public Library system, cardholders can borrow across every branch and tap the library's digital catalog and databases. Programming spans early literacy story times, teen activities and adult learning.
