Coliseum Boulevard Branch Library is one of ten branches in the Montgomery City-County Public Library (MCCPL) system, situated at 840 Coliseum Boulevard in Montgomery, Alabama. MCCPL traces its roots to June 19, 1899, when the library opened above McBryde's Drugstore on Dexter Avenue through a subscription drive promoted by the Montgomery Advertiser, with Laura M. Elmore as the first librarian. A Carnegie library followed in 1904, and in 1974 the separate city and county library systems merged into the unified Montgomery City-County Public Library. Today the Coliseum Boulevard branch serves its west-side neighborhood with circulating books, DVDs and audiobooks, a public computer lab, free Wi-Fi, and a full program calendar for children and adults.
