The North Arlington Public Library, at 210 Ridge Road, is the public library of the Borough of North Arlington in Bergen County, New Jersey. North Arlington was originally part of Hudson County when that county was created in 1840 and rejoined Bergen County in 1852; its western boundary follows the Passaic River and the site near the river was home to the first working steam engine in North America, built in the 1750s to pump water from a copper mine.
