The Baldwin Public Library has anchored Birmingham's civic and cultural life since 1927, when the original library building was constructed at 300 West Merrill Street. A Youth Room wing was added in 1960, followed by an Adult Services addition in 1981 that brought the facility to its current 40,000-square-foot footprint. With approximately 95 staff members, Baldwin serves a combined community of Birmingham, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, and the City of Bloomfield Hills.
