The Hampton-Illinois Branch Library sits at 2951 S. Hampton Road in Oak Cliff. The branch first opened April 4, 1964, and its current building opened August 5, 2006, giving the neighborhood a modern, purpose-built facility. It stands out for its large Spanish-language collection, reflecting the surrounding community, and for a full slate of reservable spaces: a Black Box Theater, two classrooms that can be used separately or combined, and three study rooms. The branch also runs a seed library and hosts programs such as Sensory Playtime and music classes, supported by an active Friends of the Library group. Unusually for the system, it is open on Sundays while closed on Mondays.
