📖 About Mason Public Library
The Mason Public Library is the independent public library district serving Mason, Ohio, a fast-growing Warren County city northeast of Cincinnati. It began in 1958 as a branch of the Lebanon Public Library with a core collection of about 3,000 books, then won its own charter in 1977 under Ohio House Bill 80 — made possible by a $100,000 bequest from Mason resident Orville Parkhill and championed by state representative Corwin Nixon. The current 200 Reading Road building broke ground in May 1979 and opened in 1980 with 13,887 books and 4,345 registered patrons; today the district holds roughly 650,000 physical items and more than 60,000 registered patrons. It runs its own Polaris catalog with a Vega Discover interface and belongs to the statewide SearchOhio and OhioLINK resource-sharing networks, so a Mason card can request materials from libraries across Ohio.
