Hall Memorial Library anchors 18 Park Street in Northfield with one of the finest examples of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture in New Hampshire — a deeply corbelled stone building raised in 1885–1887 by Boston architects Wait & Cutter with funds given by Mary Hall Cummings in memory of her husband, Adino Brackett Hall. A landmark in the National Historic Register and home to the Raven Gael Blaisdell Art Collection, it has served the twin communities of Tilton and Northfield for more than 130 years.

📖 About Hall Memorial Library
Hall Memorial Library was established through a gift from Mary Hall Cummings, who donated funds and the land — once known as Deer Park — to the towns of Tilton and Northfield in memory of her husband, Adino Brackett Hall. Boston architects Wait & Cutter designed the building in the Richardsonian Romanesque style; it was dedicated in 1886 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as one of the finest examples of Queen Anne architecture in New Hampshire. The design is an almost exact replica of Banister Memorial Hall (now Merrick Library) in Brookfield, Massachusetts. On June 6, 2001, a 5,000-square-foot addition was completed and the library was rededicated, adding modern space while preserving the historic facade. The library's collection of approximately 30,000 volumes circulates to residents of both Northfield and Tilton, with interlibrary loan connecting patrons to New Hampshire's statewide library network. The Raven Gael Blaisdell Foundation at Hall Memorial Library supports art programming and the library's role as a cultural center for the Lakes Region gateway communities.
