📖 About Warren County-Vicksburg Public Library

The Warren County-Vicksburg Public Library traces its roots to 1916, when the community opened a Carnegie-funded library at the corner of Monroe and South Streets. For decades the library operated a separate branch serving African-American residents; the two were combined in the 1970s, and in 1979 the library moved to its current downtown facility at 700 Veto Street. Governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the Warren County Board of Supervisors, the library serves the roughly 50,000 residents of Warren County with a rich local-history collection, a Makerspace, and children's programming. It participates in MAGNOLIA, the Mississippi Legislature-funded consortium that gives every resident free access to more than 40 online databases.
